GARDEN UPDATE

What a difference a year makes! Our little adopted (mostly native) pollinator garden in Sorauren Park is looking lovely! Say hello to all the plant friends and insects when you are next in the park.

Check out the new herb and native pollinator bed we put in next to the pizza oven in Sorauren Park on August 2. Just like our farmers, we love putting our hands into the earth! Special thanks to our outstanding volunteers and Project Swallowtail. Wa…

Our mission

Sorauren Farmers’ Market Association is a non-profit organization and a welcoming holistic hub offering
wholesome fresh food and community connection since 2008. We recognize that people need to feel safe and connected and have more than their basic needs met in order to live their healthiest lives.

Through a wide range of opportunities, we provide a platform for the diverse interests, voices, and offerings of our community. We also encourage relationships and dialogue around ecological preservation and aim to provide benefits to sustainable farmers, including those with land access challenges, local food producers, artists, musicians, and volunteers. Moving towards food security for all is also a core aim.

During the outdoor season, we operate in Sorauren Park which is a beautiful greenspace managed by the City of Toronto and animated by community group, Friends of Sorauren Park. Along with the Farmers’ Market, you’ll find an ice skating rink, dog walking park, community pizza oven, children’s soccer and baseball programmes and even movie nights and an annual pumpkin parade!
